super simple butter cake 

 

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup caster sugar
7 oz unsalted butter (softened)
3 eggs
1.5 tsp vanilla essence
1.25 tsp baking powder
Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line a 20 cm cake tin.
Beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then add vanilla.
Sift flour and baking powder together.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
Pour batter into the tin and smooth the top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Enjoy your cake with tea or coffee!
