Step 1: Save and Prepare the Seeds
– After eating a lemon, rinse the seeds to remove any pulp. Soak the seeds overnight to increase the chance of germination.
Step 2: Plant the Seeds Properly
– Use a small pot with drainage holes and fill it with well-draining soil.
– Plant the seeds ½ inch deep, keeping them spaced apart.
– Cover lightly with soil and water thoroughly.
Step 3: Provide the Right Conditions
– Place the pot in a warm, sunny location—lemon trees love sunlight!
– Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Covering the pot with plastic wrap can create a greenhouse effect to retain moisture.
Step 4: Be Patient
– Lemon seeds take about 2-4 weeks to sprout. Once they do, remove the plastic wrap and continue providing plenty of light.
Important Things to Know:
1.Indoor lemon trees will need at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily.
2. Your lemon tree may take a few years to bear fruit, and not all trees grown from seed will produce lemons.
3. Prune regularly to shape the tree and encourage healthy growth.
