Reese’s Cup Chocolate Donuts

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Glaze:

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons corn syrup

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional:

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chopped (for topping)

Directions:

For the Donuts:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Chocolate Glaze:

In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips, butter, corn syrup, and vanilla extract.

Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and the glaze is smooth.

Assembly:

Dip the tops of each cooled donut into the chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.

Sprinkle chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups on top of the glaze.

Let the glaze set before serving.
