Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

 

Ingredients:

• 2 packets of chicken gravy mix

• 1 can of cream of chicken soup

• 1 can of water

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1/2 teaspoon paprika

• 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

• 3 boneless, skinless whole chicken breasts (about a pound)

• 1/2 cup sour cream

 

Instructions:

1. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika, then place them in the slow cooker.

2. In a bowl, whisk together the water, gravy packets, and cream of chicken soup until smooth.

3. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.

4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours (mine cooked for 4.5 hours).

5. When the chicken is done, carefully remove it from the slow cooker and shred or cut it as desired.

6. Whisk the sour cream into the slow cooker until smooth.

7. Serve the creamy gravy over the chicken.

8. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste if desired (no extra seasoning was added in this recipe).

9. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, stove top stuffing, or egg noodles.
